My new MP3

 Dear blog,

I finally received my mp3, so as promised, here's an update!! I ain't gonna lie, it was a pain in the ass to add songs to it since I wanted to transfer my Spotify playlists.

Unfortunately, nothing worked well. I think my best attempt was Spotriff, but you can only download 40 songs per day.

Instead, I tried cnvmp3 to download music from YouTube which worked way better and allowed me to download as many songs as I wanted.

It's really small (7 cm x 5 cm) and fits well in my pockets when my phone doesn't and I need to keep it in my hands. I can finally put it away and enjoy a walk outside, hands-free.

Here are some pictures of my mp3 and how I decorated it :

Hope you'll have a nice day!

Love Y'all,

Mathilda

(update I bedazzled it too around the screen with blue rhinestones)

How to cure your phone addiction ♡

 Dear blog,

Nowadays, everyone has a phone addiction. I mean even I do and I know it. But how do you get rid of it ?

Well, every problem has its solution and I found a few that work for me : going back to physical media and decentralizing your smartphone. Especially now that those are coming back with the analog trend, I believe embracing that kind of  decentralization is easier than ever and it doesn't have to be expensive.

I recently bought that cheap camera for like 20 bucks on AliExpress (I know it's not the best platform to shop on, but please don't judge me - I'm just a student and I don't have a job). The quality isn't like 4k, but you know I don't think I want all my pictures to be 4k. Like Tyla said : "Why do we need a 4k selfie? [...] It (her old iPhone 5 camera) adds a soft blur [...] (and) it just makes your makeup, everything blend nice." I agree with her, I love that blurry and grainy effect - it gives such a pretty filter on my pictures.(I also bought that mp3 player for 20 bucks but haven't received it yet. I'll update the post once I have it.)

Then I found my Nintendo 3DS XL and after seeing so many people modding theirs, I decided to mod mine. And let me tell you something : if you have a Nintendo 3DS, go get that SD card and mod it! It was the best decision ever. You can find some tutorials on YouTube and some sites to download roms on Reddit.( I could even tell you how I modded mine and what I used.) Now, instead of doomscrolling every time I get bored, I open my 3DS and play for a little while. I even noticed that sometimes I pick it up when don't even feel like playing, so I just turn it off and go do something more useful. It helped me realize how often I pick up my phone when I don't even know what to do with it. I think modding and trying to find new games or themes to download is even a new hobby of mine.

For my music, I use my CD collection and a CD player. That way, I'm not scrolling through endless playlists and skipping every song, because I'm also very mindful about getting albums in which I like every single song. And how many times have you wanted to put on some music while you do something, only to end up scrolling on your phone instead. I mean, be honest with yourself. That must have happened too many times.

It also brings so much nostalgia when you use them. I remember using the radio to play the CDs I had or playing Luigi's Mansion on my 3DS when we went to Copenhagen in Denmark. It brings so many memories.

The other solution I have is to indulge in hands-on hobbies and activities. Creating something yourself is such a wonderful feeling. Creating, crafting and trying new hobbies are amazingly rewarding. I've also been trying to connect more with my grandma by sending her some postcards along with little crafts I made for her. It makes her so happy every time and it brings so much warmth to my heart.

Well I hope this post will inspire you and help you and I'll update you soon enough about my mp3 player.

Love y'all,

Mathilda
